The LEAF field is located on the south end of Union Reservoir on the east side of Longmont, Colorado, just east of County Line Road 1 and north of Hwy 119. The property is leased from the city of Longmont for the exclusive use of LEAF members. We fly electric powered fixed wings of all types, micros, park flyers, electric conversions, helicopters, drones, FPV multi-copters and Gliders/Sailplanes.
Our runway was professionally re-done in 2017 by Nixcavating. We now have a beautiful hard flat surface covered with geotex material. The runway is 435 ft. x 35 ft. with 6 pilot stations and 15 permanent work tables.
LEAF also has a dedicated helicopter, drone and FPV multi-copter race test site located just east of the parking area. This allows for airplanes, drones and copter flying at the same time without interference. Please be sure you follow FPV rules when flying any FPV aircraft. (All FPV pilots require a spotter pilot with them)
We have a covered solar charging station, picnic tables, a portable potty, guest viewing area and plenty of parking so feel free to bring along family and friends.
LEAF has a solar powered charging station that will support up to twelve (12) battery chargers. All that is needed is your 12vDC battery charger equipped with either banana plugs or alligator clips.
We have 9 AMA certified instructors ready to take you up on an intro flight with club owned aircraft with dual radio controls at no charge. We will also instruct new pilots with our equipment at no charge. With dual radios there is no fear of crashing. Just email info@leafrc.com with any questions.

Directions to the Field:
From Longmont: Take Ken Pratt Blvd (Hwy 119) East to east County Line Road (CR-1). Take County Line north to CR-26. Head east on CR-26 approximately 1/2 mile. LEAF is on the right (south) side of the road, 100 yards east of Union Reservoir, across the street from the beach at Union Reservoir.
From I-25: take hwy 119 (Longmont exit) west to East County Line Road (CR-1). Take County Line north to CR-26. Head east on CR-26 approximately 1/2 mile. LEAF is on the right (south) side of the road, 100 yards east of Union Reservoir, across the street from the beach at Union Reservoir (Calkins Lake).
