Hello Members,
This is a reminder that next Saturday June 22 is our second BBQ Fun Fly for Members & their Families. (Rain date Sunday June 23) This charity fund raiser is for our local Fire & Rescue station. This months Fun Fly theme is air wars. So bring your best battle plane. We will go for the ribbon cutting event where we tie ribbons on our planes and try to cut them off with the props! No telling what can happen in this event as you can imagine. Awards will be given for TOP GUNS.
Along with the air wars we will have some mid-air balloon busting, pylon racing and limbo pole contests. All for fun and the enjoyment of the crowd. We will also have many items we will raffle off to our members. Tickets will go on sale for $1 the day of the event and we will raffle off all items that day. Remember ALL PROCEEDS go to our charity. LEAF keeps nothing as always! All food and donation items are provided by LEAF and it’s members. Please be generous this Fun Fly, be a part of the club and buy a bunch of tickets! It’s all for Charity! If you have any items to donate for the raffle please let us know in advance.
Of course there is food! Please remember to bring a dish to share if possible as we always do. We will supply the BBQ and cold water. Remember your sunscreen and shade tents. If you bring a pet please remember pets must be leashed and stay behind the pit area for safety reasons.
Lot’s of new aircraft purchased for the new flying season so let’s see some of those new planes, heli’s & jets out there. The field is in great shape thanks to all the volunteers who helped clean up after the recent flood. We are ready to go and we hope we see all of you out there on the morning of June 22nd for a day of flying fun. The last Fun Fly will be held in August, there is no Fun Fly scheduled for July.
Again, thanks to everyone who participates in any form with LEAF and our activities. We appreciate it. And if you don’t participate maybe now is a good time to start. Our club continues to grow in membership and within the communities. Since January 2018 LEAF has donated over $4,000.00 to local charities and we still have 2 Fun Fly’s to go this year! Outstanding work by our club. It’s what this club should do for the community that gives us this land to fly on. We now have a response to city officials when they ask us what have we done for the city…
