.: Flying at LEAF

This is a photo of the new field layout taken from Danny Hanie's airplane by Rick McCaskill on 5/11/16

The LEAF field is located on the south end of Union Reservoir on the edge of Longmont, Colorado, just east of County Line Road 1 and north of Hwy 119. The property is leased from the city of Longmont for the exclusive use of LEAF members flying only electric powered micros, park flyers, electric, electric conversions, helicopter, multi-coper and FPV multi-copter, or Gliders/Sailplanes.

The runway is 308 ft. x 30 ft. with 6 pilot stations and 8 permanent work tables.

LEAF also has a dedicate helicopter, multi-coper and FPV multi-copter race test site located just east of the parking area.  This allow for both airplanes and copter flying at the same time without interference.

We also have an in house solar powered charging station. Bring your charger, equipped with alligator plugs and charge up while you are flying. With covered picnic tables, portable Potty, and viewing area, so feel free to bring along family and friends.

.: Real-Time Weather Info

.: Battery Charging Stations

LEAF has twelve (12) battery solar powered charging stations that are available for use. This addition to our field allows members to fly and charge their flight batteries without the concern that they are discharging their car batteries.  All that is needed is your battery charger equipped with either banana plugs or alligator clips.
